Three Moneta advisors advance to Partner

Moneta’s Board of Managers unanimously approved Rob Hehmeyer, Jamie Mealey and Logan Finerty to be admitted to the firm as Partners, effective January 1, 2019. The three new Partners serve as the most recent example of Moneta’s commitment to a sustainable business model that grows and develops internal talent through Moneta University’s Partner-in-Training program.

“Each one of them truly exemplifies what it means to be a Partner at Moneta,” Managing Partner Eric Kittner said. “They’ve demonstrated excellence in caring for clients, growing the business and providing leadership across their team and the firm. They do all of this while also being great stewards of Moneta’s brand and giving back as active role models in the St. Louis community.”

Hehmeyer specializes in investments, retirement planning, charitable planning, estate planning and education planning. In the community, he serves as a committee member for the Ronald McDonald House and a Legacy Advisor for St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Hehmeyer celebrated his 12-year anniversary at Moneta in December after joining the firm as an Advisor on the Finerty/Pietroburgo Team in 2006. As an Advisor, his focus was on clients and building relationships. After several years in that role, he began to set his sights on becoming a Partner at Moneta. Now as a Partner, Rob will co-lead a Team with fellow Partner Michael Carpenter.

“As you go through the Partner-in-Training program, there are a lot of ups and downs,” Hehmeyer said. “There are moments of self-doubt, but that’s how you know you are being challenged. I was able to learn from a number of different individuals and skill sets. With time and experience you learn to trust your instincts to always do the right thing for your clients.”

Mealey joined Moneta as an Advisor on the West Team in 2005. In the community, he serves on the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Board of Trustees and remains active at his local church. Now as a Partner, Mealey will co-lead a Team with fellow Partner Dan West.

“The Partner-in-Training program was a positive experience all the way around,” Mealey said. “The training from other Partners was everything. Meeting with Partner and mentor, Joe Sheehan, and discussing all the issues one can face as a Partner has been invaluable.”

Finerty joined Moneta as an Advisor on the Finerty/Pietroburgo Team in 2012, specializing in family office clients. He was honored in 2016 by the St. Louis Business Journal as one of their “30 Under 30” winners. In the community he is the President of Friends of CharacterPlus, serves on the Board of Trustees for the St. Louis Art Museum and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater St. Louis. He also serves on the alumni board for John Burroughs School.

“Attaining Partner would not have been possible without our great client relationships and exceptional team,” Finerty said. “The Partner-in-Training program was vital in developing my technical and leadership skills. I am honored to have been included and look forward to helping others follow the same path.”

As a Partner, Logan will co-lead the Finerty Team with fellow Partner Steve Finerty.

With the addition of Hehmeyer, Mealey and Logan Finerty, Moneta now has 37 equity partners leading 22 teams.

In 2018, Barron’s ranked Moneta No. 4 nationally among independent registered investment advisors and InvestmentNews listed the firm as the nation’s ninth-largest fee-only RIA (No. 1 the Midwest) by assets under management. Moneta’s AUM later rose to more than $20 billion as of June 30, 2018.
