Thomas Lane, Jr.

Partner Emeritus

CFP®, ChFC®, CRPS®

With decades of experience in financial planning, Thomas A. Lane, Jr. is dedicated to helping Moneta clients achieve their financial goals through a collaborative, client-first approach. As Partner Emeritus of the Lane Hipple Team, Thomas spearheads efforts to ensure every client’s advisors work together seamlessly, always prioritizing the client’s financial well-being.

Thomas specializes in comprehensive planning for high-net-worth families approaching retirement or already retired, with particular expertise in IRA distribution planning, multi-generational strategies, and Social Security optimization. His commitment to providing independent, full-service planning led him to establish Lane Hipple in 2003, creating a firm with the autonomy to act solely in clients’ best interests.

After a thoughtful search for a partner whose values and vision aligned with their own, Lane Hipple joined Moneta in 2025. The decision was guided by a commitment to serving clients not just today, but for generations to come. Moneta’s 100% partner-owned, independent structure ensures that clients remain at the center of every decision. This partnership strengthens Lane Hipple’s ability to provide continuity, expanded services, and long-term support, while staying true to the personal relationships and fiduciary standards that have always defined the team.

Prior to founding Lane Hipple, Thomas served as Managing Partner at Integrated Planning Services (1988–2001) and as Senior Financial Advisor at PNC Advisors/Hilliard Lyons (2001–2003). These roles provided him with a broad perspective and deep understanding of the financial landscape, preparing him to deliver exceptional service and guidance.

Thomas studied Economics and Political Science at Rutgers University (1978). He is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC™) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®), credentials earned from the American College and the College for Financial Planning, respectively.

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren, relaxing at the Jersey Shore, kayaking, skiing, golfing, and supporting Urban Promise Ministries.

Clients and prospective clients can trust Thomas’s experience, integrity, and dedication to delivering seamless, client-focused financial planning and continuous improvement for every family served.
