Phil Schwab left Edward Jones and joined Moneta as an Advisor in 2019 because he wanted to make a more meaningful impact on people’s lives – he wanted to make a difference. At Moneta, Phil builds close relationships with successful individuals and their families while empowering them to navigate life’s path. He sees each client’s financial situation as unique and enjoys simplifying their individual financial complexities so they can achieve their goals, from sending kids to college to retiring comfortably and building a legacy along the way.
Phil came to Moneta from Edward Jones with more than a decade of experience in financial services. He started at Edward Jones as an advisor in 2006 before specializing in capital markets, eventually working his way up to become the head fixed income trader for the Telecommunication, Media, and Technology sectors. But Phil wanted something less redundant and more relationally driven than moving corporate bonds. The role of a bond trader has changed dramatically over the years and he didn’t see it as a long term career path.
That’s when members of the Sheehan Steffen Akins Han Team showed Phil the exponential potential available to him at Moneta. The firm provided a dynamic structure of autonomous teams backed by MonetaU, an internal talent and organizational development program that would invest in his professional growth. Most importantly, Moneta empowered Phil to take a comprehensive approach to wealth management in the best interest of his clients.
Phil earned his MBA in Finance from Webster University after graduating from Lake Forest College with a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies and minors in both Business and Politics. He plans to work towards CFP® certification because he shares Moneta’s value for professional qualifications and credentials.
Outside of the office, Phil enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two young children. His favorite activities include golf, tennis, swimming, running and biking around Clayton.
