Matt Schaller

Advisor
MBA, CFA, CFP®

Matt Schaller brings more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry to his role as an advisor at Moneta. Matt is both a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP) professional. His extensive background in client service, coupled with his previous experience as an investment research analyst, adds another layer of expertise to the team and offers a unique lens for clients’ investment decisions.

Investment terminology can be overly complicated and convoluted. Matt serves as an advocate and advisor for clients’ best interests when evaluating investment opportunities. By reviewing the fine print and explaining strategies in meaningful language, Matt works side-by-side with clients to ensure their decisions benefit their family’s and business’ needs and fit with their investment goals. Matt’s success for his clients led Small Business Monthly to name him to the Top 100 St. Louisans You Should Know list in 2020.

“I began my career in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis,” Matt said. “As my roles and responsibilities have grown, I’ve realized the importance of not only evaluating a client’s investments but to also navigate through the emotions that come with investing. I am motivated by a desire to help people make smarter choices by offering them independent financial advice. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is no two clients are the same.”

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with an emphasis in real estate, from the University of Missouri – Columbia and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Saint Louis University in 2008. Outside of the office, Matt and his wife Elise are always on the go. In particular, the couple enjoys taking their three daughters to Missouri Botanical Garden and the St. Louis Zoo. Matt is an avid home brewer and cyclist as well as an active member of Trailnet, an organization dedicated to fostering healthy, active and vibrant communities where biking, walking and the use of public transit are a way of life.
