You need to look no further than the pictures on his desk of his children and grandchildren to understand why Gene is so passionate about building and delivering holistic strategies and tailored solutions, as well as working towards the goal of best-in-class outcomes for his clients and their families.

Gene has spent over 40 years growing, protecting, and sustaining the family wealth of some of America’s most entrepreneurial and philanthropic families.

With a dedication to setting sustainable business goals, rigorous multi-generational family goal planning, corporate governance, and intentional charitable giving, Gene and his team go beyond simply offering financial planning advice and guidance. They become trusted confidants and partners.

One commonly shared trait of a Diederich Simmons Perez client is the belief that business should be a force for good in the world. These leaders and their families are attracted to Gene’s business, financial, and philanthropic expertise.

Gene and his team are focused on building tailored solutions to their clients’ challenges while working tirelessly towards leveraging opportunities and the goal of delivering the best possible outcomes for business owners and their families.

For the Diederich Simmons Perez team at Moneta, Gene leads a team of seasoned professionals serving clients in twenty-five states. His team brings world-class expertise specializing in complex financial planning, including investments, income tax, estate tax, and risk management.

As an owner and former CEO of privately held Moneta, Gene shares a kindred bond with the business owners and CEOs he is honored to call clients, partners, and friends. This bond enables Gene to see the world through their eyes: their cares, concerns, hopes, and dreams as they look to create sustainable financial health for their families for generations to come.

Gene began his career with the Kansas City office of KPMG, then spent 25 years with AG Edwards and successor firms. Additionally, Gene has served in multiple ownership, leadership, and director positions.

Giving back to the community has been a constant, with Gene having served on charitable boards including Mercy Hospital, The Magic House Children’s Museum Board, and previously was Co-Chairman of the Greater St. Louis United Way campaign.

The other constant in Gene’s life is his devotion to family – his wife Kimberly, their four children, and six grandchildren.

After spending a lifetime flying as a business traveler, Gene attained his pilot's license. When not in the air, you likely will spot Gene and his family on the links, on the ski slopes, or cheering on their beloved Kansas Jayhawks.
