Colleen Carmitchel is a seasoned CPA and tax strategist with a proven track record of guiding high-net-worth clients through complex tax challenges and aligning tax strategies with long-term financial goals. As a former partner at a boutique CPA firm, Colleen developed deep expertise in advanced tax planning, pass-through entity and individual taxation, real estate tax matters, GAAP tax accrual preparation, and outsourced CFO services. She also earned her Series 65 license to expand her advisory capabilities and integrate tax strategy into broader financial planning.
In her current role at Moneta, Colleen serves as a senior tax strategist, offering expert review of complex tax returns, designing innovative tax planning solutions, and acting as a key resource on tax-related issues. She works closely with advisors to ensure seamless integration of tax strategies into financial and investment plans. Colleen is also deeply committed to team development, mentoring less experienced advisors, leading training sessions on complex tax topics, and staying ahead of regulatory changes to provide the most up-to-date guidance.
Colleen’s leadership extends to Moneta’s Kansas City office, where she plays a vital role in shaping the team’s approach to tax strategy and fostering collaboration. She is passionate about contributing to the team’s growth and is excited to expand her role to include deeper client relationships and business development over time.
Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kansas, where she was an active member of Beta Alpha Psi, the honor society for accounting students.
Outside of work, Colleen lives in Basehor, Kansas, with her husband and their three daughters. She enjoys cheering on her daughters at their sports and school events and spending quality time with her family.
