When advising clients, Moneta Partner Steve Finerty draws upon legal and investment training, as well as his many years of professional experience. He uses this experience to advise individuals and institutions on how to best accomplish their financial goals and objectives. Along with the rest of the extensive Finerty Team, his goal is to find the best possible solutions for each individual client need.
In addition to his role at Moneta, Steve founded and serves as Chairman and CEO of Argent Capital Management LLC, which manages the large cap and small cap U.S. stock portfolios for institutions and high-net-worth individuals. He also co-founded Retirement Plan Services LLC, a full-service retirement plan administrative company, which was sold in 2018.
Steve Finerty earned his B.S. in Business from Drake University and his J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law. He joined Moneta in 1986 and served on its Board for more than 30 years.
Steve is very active in the community and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the St. Louis Symphony. He previously has served as Chairman of the boards of Forest Park Forever, The Magic House, Community School, and the St. Louis Symphony Endowment Trust; in addition to his responsibilities with the St. Louis Symphony, he currently serves on the boards of the Muny and Forest Park Forever. In the past, Steve has served on boards including Drake University, the St. Louis Zoo, John Burroughs School, Webster University, and the St. Louis Community College Foundation, among many others.
