Senior Retirement Plan Advisor

As a Senior Retirement Plan Advisor on the Finerty Retirement Team at Moneta, Sarah Bishop advises business owners and leaders in all areas of their retirement plan design, supporting them in navigating the complexities of ERISA, DOL, and IRS requirements. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Sarah is knowledgeable in plan design, investment design, compliance testing, fiduciary requirements, plan governance, operational issues, plan expense management and benchmarking, regulatory requirements, and financial wellness education.

Sarah and her team design retirement plans to meet the needs of businesses and organizations by first understanding the goals and objectives of all stakeholders. She is passionate about financial wellness education, improving the likelihood of successful retirement outcomes for plan participants, and expanding access to retirement savings for more American workers.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville. Prior to joining Moneta in 2021, Sarah worked as a Sr. Retirement Plan Consultant for EPIC Retirement Plan Services (formerly RPS Benefits). Sarah started her career as a Retirement Plan Specialist for RPS Benefits in 2007.

Sarah’s commitment to the retirement plan industry includes membership in the American Retirement Association’s National Association for Plan Advisors (NAPA) and the American Society for Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). She also serves as a Vice President and Treasurer for the Gateway St. Louis ASPPA Benefits Council and as a member of the Retirement Advisor Council, a national organization that advocates for successful qualified plan and participant retirement outcomes.

Sarah and her husband have two children. Away from the office, Sarah spends her time cheering on her sons at their youth baseball games and enjoying the outdoors with family. Sarah is also an active member of her church, serving on the Christ Church Legacy Foundation. She supports the Fellowship of Christian Athletes by serving as a chair to the Metro-East Legacy Dinner Committee. Sarah also serves as a Board Member for the American Red Cross of Greater St. Louis.
