Sarah Berry

Partner

Sarah has developed an approach to advising her clients based on straight talk, common sense and simplified holistic investing. She honed her beliefs over her 35+ years as an Advisor with A.G. Edwards and Sons and its successor firms, Wachovia and Wells Fargo Advisors. In addition to her clients, Sarah worked as the manager of the Worcester, MA, office for 11 years and six years as the manager of the Boston AGE institutional and Retail Office. In September 2019, she established The Berry Group as a Registered Investment Advisor with her partner, Michael Machnowski, CFP®, and they joined Moneta in February of 2021.

Sarah received a Bachelor’s degree from Bennington College. After a few odd jobs after college, she decided to see what it was like to work as a financial advisor since her father had interested her in the market at age 10. It was the best thing she ever did. Sarah loves teaching people about money and investments. As she is wont to say – “Having enough money is about having choices about how you want to live your life.” Away from the office, Sarah has served as a volunteer on various community organizations: former President of Higgins Armory Museum, Worcester Art Museum, Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Community HealthLink and as a trustee of Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce, UMASS Memorial Health Care System, Bancroft School, Tower Hill Botanic Garden and the YMCA. Currently, she is also a Selectman for the small island of Gosnold, MA, and a Trustee at the Worcester Art Museum.

She is married to a (mostly) retired businessman and serious gardener, has three wonderful step-children, eight grandchildren, five siblings and a terrific mom. She truly enjoys helping individuals and families manage the financial complexities that are an integral part of life and the transitions of intergenerational wealth.
