Matt Harlan

Director of Trust and Family Office

Moneta hired Matt Harlan as Director of Trust Services when the firm launched Moneta Trust in 2021 to offer in-house trust services for its clients.

In this role, Matt is responsible for overseeing and helping transition the firm’s trust accounts for Moneta Trust, as well as working alongside Moneta’s Partners and Advisors to offer Moneta Trust’s services and resources to existing and prospective clients. Longer term, Matt is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to ensure Moneta Trust’s growth and success, as well as finding ways to expand its client base and service offerings.

Matt brings extensive experience in the trust business to Moneta, having worked with high-net-worth families for 19 years at The St. Louis Trust Company, six years at Bank of America Private Bank, and four years at Mark Twain Bank Trust Division. Over the course of his career, he has developed expertise in trust administration, estate planning, investment and asset allocation, and cash flow and tax planning.

Prior to beginning his career, Matt received his bachelor’s degree and his MBA from St. Louis University. He also holds his CTFA and CFP® certifications.

Matt is an active member of the Estate Council of Greater St. Louis. When he is not working, Matt enjoys traveling, hiking, and relaxing with family and friends.
