Gene is the founder of the Diederich Perez Family Office team at Moneta, which focuses solely on Family Office services. He formerly served as the CEO of Moneta, helping to effect significant changes in management structure, the implementation of transformational technology advances, and investment in enhancing due diligence, bond trading, and training. Gene brings a rare combination of financial sophistication, personal integrity, and unwavering commitment to his clients, specializing in helping ultra-high-net-worth individuals and multigenerational families navigate complex financial landscapes with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Highly relationship-focused and deeply trusted, Gene is known for listening first, then crafting thoughtful, tailored strategies that align with each family’s long-term vision, legacy goals, and philanthropic values. Clients value his clear communication, problem-solving acumen, and ability to see around corners.
Gene began his career as a CPA with KPMG, working in both tax and audit. He then joined A.G. Edwards & Sons, where he served in a variety of senior leadership roles, ultimately leading the Branch Division, overseeing approximately 7,500 advisors and $1.4 billion in revenue. He was a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee and also served on the Board of A.G. Edwards United Kingdom. Following the firm’s acquisition by Wachovia Securities, Gene was named Eastern Division Director for Wachovia Securities/Wells Fargo Advisors.
Deeply engaged in his community, Gene is the current Board Chair of the Today and Tomorrow Educational Foundation and the Holy Family School of Faith. He serves on the Corporate Board of Global Prairie, a global marketing and consulting firm, and is an Advisory Board member of Aligned Equity Group, a real estate development firm.
Gene earned his BS in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas and holds both the Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designations. An avid outdoorsman and lifelong learner, he enjoys golf, skiing, hunting, and fly fishing, and is an instrument-rated private pilot. He and his wife are proud parents of four grown children and grandparents to seven.
