Eric Kittner

CEO and Chairman

CPA, CFP®

When Moneta’s founding Partners selected Eric Kittner as Managing Partner and Chairman of the Board in 2018, it not only signaled a passing of the torch from one generation of leadership to the next, but a seminal shift in the firm’s strategic vision.

Under Eric’s leadership, Moneta transformed from a single-location Midwest firm into one of the nation’s largest, top-ranked, fee-only independent RIAs [1]. During Eric’s first three years as MP and Chairman, Moneta launched its first three expansion markets in firm history while making its first acquisitions of likeminded RIAs in Denver, Kansas City and the Greater Boston Area. Later as Moneta’s CEO, he pioneered the firm into Chicago, Boulder, and the Greater Philadelphia Area.

During Eric’s time leading Moneta, the firm’s assets under management more than doubled from $18.5 billion as of December 2017 to $42.7 billion as of December 2024.

Moneta is repeatedly recognized by Barron’s for quality of service and scale, and our Rankings page highlights these specific achievements and others that showcase the firm’s commitment to excellence.

“The work Moneta’s founders did over the firm’s first 30+ years as an RIA positioned us to grow in an exceptional way, and I am honored to lead that charge,” Eric said. “Our vision for the firm in this next chapter is continued growth, allowing us to expand our services and expertise for clients. In fact, we owe this to our clients to fulfill our commitment to serve them for generations to come as their Family CFO.”

Eric joined Moneta in 2003 because he was looking to build relationships while taking a more proactive, forward-looking role in the lives of his clients. He loves providing a service and managing his own practice, making Moneta’s client-focused and entrepreneurial approach a perfect landing spot for him.

Prior to Moneta, Eric earned his CPA, as it was a priority for him to understand all the financial aspects of running a business. He went on to attain experience at major firms like Ernst & Young, Arthur Anderson, and RubinBrown. He graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and attended the London School of Economics.

Eric moved to St. Louis from the East Coast in 2002, following his wife back to her hometown, now a city he is also passionate about calling home.
