As Head of Investment Strategy and Research at Moneta, Chris Kamykowski leads across multiple fronts to help optimize the firm’s approach to investments at both macro and micro levels.
Chris works in collaboration with the broader Investment Team to oversee Moneta’s investment strategy, portfolio management, asset allocation, and manager research activities in support of the firm’s 26+ Advisor Teams. He manages many of the Investment Team’s day-to-day activities while leading and mentoring its team members.
At the firm level, Chris serves on multiple internal governance committees in the oversight of investment activities and decisions. He also assists in the development of investment policies and guidelines to ensure alignment with Moneta’s goals and objectives, and then maintains effective and well-organized investment processes to comply with those investment policies. To ensure efficient and effective implementation of investment strategies across the firm, Chris regularly collaborates with other departments such as compliance, finance, marketing, human resources, and operations.
As someone who conducts thorough research and analysis on financial markets and economic trends, Chris serves as a thought leader both internally and externally by providing regular communication regarding model portfolios and market trends and events.
Chris brings more than 20 years of valuable working experience in both the investment management and institutional consulting industries. He began his career at NISA Investment Advisors, where he worked within investment operations and on the portfolio management desk, assisting portfolio managers with portfolio oversight and implementation. From there he moved to the institutional consulting industry at Asset Consulting Group and Summit Strategies Group / Mercer; his primary focus was on fixed income manager research and overseeing the Public Markets manager research effort while at Summit.
After graduating from Saint Louis University with a B.S.B.A degree in Finance, Chris attained the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation (CFA) and earned an Advanced Management Certificate from Washington University. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ credentials in 2021.
Away from work, Chris can usually be found on the soccer field coaching club soccer year-round and enjoying time with his wife and two kids. A native of Tennessee, he is always up for a discussion on the SEC and Volunteer football.
