Ashley Rieser began her career as an economic analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which laid the foundation for her belief that analysis is more thorough and balanced when created by a team whose members are constantly seeking to gain expertise in their fields. She joined Moneta as an Advisor on the Berry Machnowski Team because she knew the firm was committed to providing advice derived from a team approach that is tailored to the clients’ current and future goals.
Ashley earned a B.A. in Political Science and Pre-Law from the University of Richmond. After college, she taught English in Thailand for a year and then moved to Boston to pursue a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from Boston University.
Ashley grew up in St. Louis and most recently spent time working in her hometown as an advisor in a family office as well as the Director of Operations for a local venture capital fund. During her time with the CIA, Ashley assessed intelligence on illicit finance and money laundering issues with a nexus in US security interests; she worked closely with political, leadership, and military analysts to produce long-term assessments and briefings for US policymakers.
Ashley and her husband live in Sudbury, Massachusetts with their daughter. Outside of the office, Ashley enjoys being a committed, long-distance fan of the Cardinals and Blues, traveling, playing golf, and reconnecting with her Boston-based friends.
