Moneta Senior Advisor Alex Faught aims to bring Wall Street to Main Street by leveraging his 15+ year career in financial services and experience as a financial analyst to help high-net-worth families navigate the complicated nuances of financial planning. Alex aims to deeply understand his clients and their individual situations to help them develop strategic plans for achieving their long-term financial goals.
Attracted to Moneta’s unique ability to provide institutional resources and personalized attention to its clients, Alex joined the firm in 2019 after nearly six years at Edward Jones headquarters serving mostly as a Business Strategy Leader and Senior Analyst. During his tenure at Edward Jones, Alex covered fixed income credits, supported general investment research, and helped lead some of the firm’s core business innovation efforts. Alex’s experience also includes time as an analyst at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business’ Center for Research in Security Prices and BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where he provided analytical and operational support to one of the firm’s leading teams managing more than $2 billion in assets. Alex started his professional career with an internship with the investment banking arm of B. Riley Securities in Newport Beach, CA.
Alex holds a B.S. degree in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University, graduating with cum laude honors and an MBA from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. While at Olin, Alex was recognized as a Knight Scholar for ranking as a top 10 graduate in his program and received the Olin MBA Finance Award given each year to the top student studying finance. Alex was a teaching assistant in both his undergraduate and graduate programs. Alex also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification (CFP®).
Outside of Moneta, Alex is deeply involved in Pedal the Cause (PTC), the annual cycling challenge that raises millions of dollars to provide critical research funding for the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. In addition to his support for PTC, Alex also enjoys endurance sports, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and playing squash.
