The United Way of Greater St. Louis has named Steve Lipstein and Gene Diederich as co-chairs for its 2016 campaign.

Lipstein, president and CEO of BJC HealthCare, and Diederich, partner with Moneta Group, will together lead the organization’s annual fundraising campaign, which will officially begin in September. The United Way announces its annual fundraising goal in the fall.

“Steve and Gene are esteemed leaders whose experience and guidance will prove to be instrumental to the success of this year’s campaign,” Orvin Kimbrough, president and CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis, said Wednesday in a statement.

Last year’s United Way campaign was co-chaired by Sue McCollum, chairman and CEO of Major Brands, and Suzanne Sitherwood, president and CEO of Spire Inc., which formerly was known as The Laclede Group. The campaign was the United Way’s most successful to date, raising over $74.3 million.

The annual campaign provides support for more than 170 health and human service organizations in the United Way’s 16-county service area in Missouri and Illinois.
