As Chief Marketing Officer for Moneta, Susan Gerard leads the organization’s marketing and communications department, empowering them to internally develop and implement its brand strategy at a national scale as Moneta expands to new markets for the first time in the company’s 150-year history. At the firm level, she leads Moneta’s shift from an organic growth path to a new strategy that includes paid, earned and owned media tactics. Much of her time is also dedicated to Moneta’s 24+ advisory teams providing marketing strategies and tactics to grow their respective books of business.
Internally, she is spear-heading communications platforms and systems to increase efficiency, promote positive feedback for fellow team members and also communicate more easily across locations and markets.
Susan earned a B.A. in Journalism with a focus on Advertising from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Most recently, she earned her Masters of Business Aministration (MBA) from Washington University, St. Louis – Olin School of Business.
At the start of her career Susan worked with nationally recognized advertising agencies, TBWA Chiat/Day and D’Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles. She also worked on the client side prior to Moneta at a start up, leading the marketing for their national expansion. Just prior to Moneta, she ran Gerard Marketing Group, providing businesses with the strategic vision and tactical plans to different themselves and grow their businesses.
Susan was a 2019 recipient of the St. Louis Business Journal’s C-suite Award, as well as a nominee for Wealth Management’s CMO of the Year award.
Susan currently resides in Webster Groves with her husband and three kids. Outside of the office, she enjoys running, the fine arts and traveling.
