Moneta Partner Maggie Rapplean Featured on Kitces’ Financial Advisor Success Podcast

We’re proud to share that Moneta Partner Maggie Rapplean was recently featured on Michael Kitces’ Financial Advisor Success podcast, part of the widely respected “Nerd’s Eye View” blog on Kitces.com. Maggie opens up about her personal journey in the financial advisory industry and the pivotal decisions that led her to Moneta—a firm where she found not only the resources to grow her practice but also a clear path to equity ownership.

Maggie’s story is one of resilience, vision, and leadership. She began her career at a wirehouse, where she gained valuable business development training and built strong relationships with fellow advisors. However, despite her success, she found herself limited by a lack of opportunity for ownership. Seeking more autonomy and a chance to build something lasting, Maggie transitioned with her team to an independent RIA. Yet, without the infrastructure and support of a larger firm, the challenges mounted—and the path to equity remained elusive.

That’s when Maggie made the bold decision to join Moneta.

At Moneta, Maggie found the best of both worlds: the scale and resources of a national firm—cutting-edge technology, deep planning expertise, and operational support—combined with a culture that empowers advisors to build and own their practices. Through Moneta’s structured path to partnership, Maggie was able to grow her client base, take over a retiring advisor’s book of business, and ultimately become a Partner through an earn-out structure and equity buy-in.

Her journey is a testament to Moneta’s commitment to advisor independence and ownership. We believe that advisors thrive when they’re supported by a robust platform but still retain control over their client relationships and business decisions. Maggie’s success reflects the power of that model—and the kind of entrepreneurial spirit we champion at Moneta.
