Moneta garnered national media attention with the announcement of its new investment consulting partner, DiMeo Schneider & Associates.
Citywire reporter Andrew Jones broke the news, reporting that “Midwest RIA giant Moneta” hired DiMeo Schneider to gain scale and serve a wider range of clients while further refining its research and due diligence on investment strategies.
Moneta Chief Investment Officer Bill Hornbarger leads Moneta’s internal investment team, which consists of Director of Investment Research Luke Ferraro, Director of Fixed Income Rich McDonald and Fixed Income Trader Jennifer Nolan. DiMeo Schneider will complement the team’s research, particularly in the areas of private capital and hedge funds.
“We really think of them as an expanded research department, but just in another building,’” Hornbarger told Citywire. “We are augmenting our list selectively with some of the managers they recommend, so our list will get a little bit larger, but we still want to have high conviction in every asset class with our best managers.”
Moneta is currently hiring to boost its investment team. It plans to add two investment consultants to work with advisory teams, as well as a fixed income trader for its in-house fixed income team, which trades individual bonds for clients.
Moneta consistently earns praise for the way it invests in and takes care of employees. The firm was named as a top place to work by various media outlets for the sixth year in a row in 2019, with accolades coming from publications such as InvestmentNews, the St. Louis Business Journal and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch during that span.
Moneta, nationally ranked No. 4 among independent RIAs by Barron’s in 2018 for its combination of quality and scale, delivers a level of service and loyalty to its clients that only a completely independent, 100% employee-owned company can offer. Moneta provides a full spectrum of financial planning services to successful individuals and families, empowering them to navigate life’s path and protect what they cherish. For closely held businesses and organizations, Moneta’s experienced and fully-dedicated retirement plan consulting professionals design custom sponsor plans through a high-touch process with a passionate emphasis on improving the retirement outcomes of their employees. InvestmentNews ranked Moneta as the Midwest’s largest independent RIA in 2018 with more than $20 billion in AUM and 300 employees.
