ST. LOUIS—March 31, 2014—April is Autism Awareness Month, a month dedicated to raising awareness for a disease that impacts one of every 68 children in America. To kick off the month and begin their strategic partnership, the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation has provided the St. Louis chapter of Autism Speaks with a grant of $25,000.

This grant is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Moneta’s partnership will not only provide Autism Speaks with monetary assistance, but also with the gift of volunteers and support throughout the year at their events.

This support starts on Wednesday as the world celebrates “Light It Up Blue” Day, a unique global initiative that kicks-off Autism Awareness Month and helps raise awareness about autism. In honor of this historic day, many iconic landmarks, hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges and retail stores are among the hundreds of thousands of homes and communities that take part to Light It Up Blue.

Moneta Group handed out blue light bulbs to many of their employees and plans to help spread the word throughout the year at the organization’s events such as the Chef’s Gala, annual golf tournament, and annual walk.

Missouri, Moneta Group’s roots in St. Louis date back to 1869, which means that for almost 145 years the comprehensive financial planning firm has been invested in the success of the St. Louis community. In fact, in addition to their own personal involvement in numerous charities, Moneta principals furthered their commitment to philanthropy by establishing the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation in 1999.

Each year, the Charitable Foundation selects charitable organizations to provide with grants and to partner with throughout the year; they also have an internal volunteer initiative, Moneta Momentum, which allows employees who are passionate about a cause or organization to petition the Foundation for a financial grant.
