Moneta Group Grants $70,000 to Five Local Organizations

ST. LOUIS—March 13, 2014— Moneta Group’s roots in St. Louis date back to 1869, which means that for almost 145 years the comprehensive financial planning firm has been invested in the success of the St. Louis community. In fact, in addition to their own personal involvement in numerous charities, Moneta principals furthered their commitment to philanthropy by establishing the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation in 1999.

Each year, the Charitable Foundation selects charitable organizations to provide with grants and to partner with throughout the year; they also have an internal volunteer initiative, Moneta Momentum, which allows employees who are passionate about a cause or organization to petition the Foundation for a financial grant.

This year, the foundation has selected Autism Speaks and Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri to partner with, granting each organization $25,000.

“Our employees have long admired the causes that these organizations represent,” states Gene Diederich, CEO of Moneta Group. “It is an honor to support them and their missions.”

The $25,000 grant to Autism Speaks will help support their events throughout the year including the Autism Walk in Forest Park, Chefs Gala, Charity Golf Classic, and Light it Up Blue light bulb distribution for April’s awareness campaign. Not only will Moneta support Autism Speaks monetarily, but there will be multiple opportunities for employees to volunteer their time as well.

The $25,000 grant to Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri (MHA) will help provide the capital essential to growing the program’s reach as it equips charitable organizations to effectively address stress, build resiliency, avoid burnout, and improve overall well-being. The money donated by Moneta will not only help implement programming, but also ten Moneta employees will be able to select an organization to receive the services of MHA.

In addition to these Strategic Partnerships, Moneta Momentum has distributed $20,000 among three employee-selected causes; the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, The Haven of Grace, and Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis.

Moneta’s support of these five organizations is just another example of the firm’s corporate stewardship. Through individual gifts of its principals and employees, its participation in numerous nonprofit boards and the work of the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation, the firm contributes its time, talent and treasure to the organizations working hard to make St. Louis a happier, healthier place.
