Moneta is a fee-only financial planning and Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm. This means that we never earn sales commissions, kick-backs, referral fees, or sales bonuses that result from the sale of insurance or investment products. As a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor, the Securities and Exchange Commission holds us to a fiduciary standard, and we act in this fiduciary capacity for our clients 100% of the time. This means that we are mandated to always place our clients’ best interests above our own. This fiduciary standard stands in contrast to the much lower sales “suitability” standard to which some financial advisors are held.
Financial services professionals take a variety of approaches to offering financial advice. Some focus on one area of a client’s finances, others focus on two or three. It is our experience at Moneta, however, that all aspects of one’s financial life are interwoven to some degree. In 1989 Moneta’s conversion to a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) marked an official declaration to act as a fiduciary, long before it became an industry buzz term.
2019 was Moneta’s 30th Anniversary as an RIA and 150th year of staying true to their mission of “empowering people to navigate life’s path and protect what they cherish.” We can trace Moneta’s roots all the way back to1869 as Home Life Insurance Company.
