With more than 20 years of experience in the investment and financial planning industry, Moneta Partner Lynn Dunston is passionate about helping families, professionals and business owners accomplish their financial objectives. With more than a decade of experience in academia and, as a graduate of Harvard University, Lynn brings a rigorous, research-driven approach to the field of wealth management.

Lynn left the independent financial planning firm he founded, Dunston Financial Group, to join Moneta as a Partner in 2019. The move gave his clients the advantage of Moneta’s large-scale resources without sacrificing the personalized attention and service Lynn and his team have always delivered.

Prior to founding Dunston Financial Group, Lynn was a partner with Madison Financial Partners, where he specialized in providing private wealth management and financial planning services to successful family owned businesses and executives. Lynn also spent five years as director for a $400 million retirement trust fund in Louisville, KY. With a diverse background in investments, Lynn has significant expertise in helping clients with real estate and other non-traditional investment strategies. Lynn is also an Enrolled Agent (EA) of the IRS. EAs are America’s tax experts and are able to advise and file tax returns on all tax matters—business, individual, and estate. EAs are one of the few professionals who have unlimited representation rights to represent clients before the IRS. Lynn and his team are also specialists in the complexities of retirement income planning, and Lynn regularly helps baby boomers all over the world prepare for a successful retirement.

Outside of work, Lynn enjoys spending time with his daughter and his wife. Lynn also loves the outdoors, and he enjoys ultra-marathon trail running, mountain biking and road cycling. Giving back to the community is also important. Lynn has served as a board member for the non-profit, Smart Girl, Inc., an organization committed to helping young girls make smart choices. Lynn also regularly serves underprivileged youth by taking them on mountain bike rides for the non-profit organization Trips for Kids Denver/Boulder.
