The St. Louis Business Journal selected Moneta Partner Jordan Janes to its list of 40 Under 40 honorees for 2019 after reviewing more than 650 nominations.
Janes joined Moneta in February 2014 as an advisor and swiftly forged an enviable career trajectory at the firm, being quickly promoted to senior advisor in 2016. His unmatched ability to connect with clients, increase team revenues and mentor young associates made him an ideal candidate to be fast-tracked, earning the role of partner in 2018. Janes is the second youngest of 37 total Moneta partners.
As the founding partner of his team’s professional athlete practice, Janes assembled and now leads a group of advisors helping athletes manage the complex issues needed to sustain a successful career both on and off the field of play. In a few short years, he grew this dedicated practice from zero to one of the largest in the Midwest.

Janes currently serves on Moneta’s governance and business systems committees. He is actively involved in the firm’s partner-in-training program, paying it forward by formally mentoring senior advisors who are following in his career footsteps to become future partners.
Janes is also actively involved in the St. Louis sports community, currently serving on the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Sports Commission. He recently served on the committee responsible for one of St. Louis’ largest annual events: The Musial Awards, which have been called the most important awards in sports for honoring the nation’s greatest moments and biggest names in sportsmanship embodying the class and character exhibited by baseball legend Stan Musial throughout his career.
During more than a decade of coaching youth sports, Janes organized team service events at St. Patrick Center so players could give back to those in need. Most recently, he organized and led a volunteer build day with Habitat for Humanity for 10 members of his team at Moneta.
Janes and his wife, Julie, live in Webster Groves with their two children. Fostering and imparting a love of sports and the life-skills gained by being part of a team to their children is important to the couple. At just five months old, their son Taylor already owns his first hockey stick.
