Moneta Group Charitable Foundation Grants $25,000 to Two Local Organizations

ST. LOUIS—February 10, 2015— Moneta Group’s roots in St. Louis date back to 1869, which means that for almost 145 years the comprehensive financial planning firm has been invested in the success of the St. Louis community. In fact, in addition to their own personal involvement in numerous charities, Moneta principals furthered their commitment to philanthropy by establishing the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation in 1999.

Each year, the Charitable Foundation selects charitable organizations to provide with grants and to partner with throughout the year; they also have an internal volunteer initiative, Moneta Momentum, which allows employees who are passionate about a cause or organization to petition the Foundation for a financial grant.

This year, the foundation has selected The Magic House and Haven of Grace to partner with, granting each organization $25,000.

“Our employees have long admired the causes that these organizations represent,” states Gene Diederich, CEO of Moneta Group. “It is an honor to support them and their missions.”

The $25,000 grant to The Magic House will help support their events throughout the year including the Chinese Cultural Celebrations and The Very Magical Evening at the Peabody Opera House. These events will help continue to grow and develop the Magic House’s mission to engage all children in hands-on learning experiences that encourage experimentation, creativity and the development of problem-solving skills within a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic.

The $25,000 grant to Haven of Grace will help support their events throughout the year including the Field and Farms Event, Trivia Nights, etc. The money raised at these events will help Haven of Grace to continue to empower young pregnant women to overcome obstacles and achieve stability. Through community resources, coaching and a family-like support network, young mothers achieve self-sufficiency, obtain safe housing in the community and secure a bright, healthy future for themselves and their children.

Moneta’s support of these organizations is just another example of the firm’s corporate stewardship. Through individual gifts of its principals and employees, its participation in numerous nonprofit boards and the work of the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation, the firm contributes its time, talent and treasure to the organizations working hard to make St. Louis a happier, healthier place.
