ST. LOUIS—January 3, 2018—Moneta, the seventh largest independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in the country, has announced the appointment of Eric Kittner, CPA, CFP® as Managing Partner and Chairman of the Board.
Kittner succeeds Thomas O’Meara, AIF®, MBA who served as Managing Partner for three years and worked diligently to bring a new focus on sustainability to Moneta.
“We started our journey to sustainability many, many years ago, but it has truly become our primary focus over the last three years,” says O’Meara. “Building sustainable teams allows us to maintain our independence as we grow and prosper, providing our clients assurance that their Moneta relationships will span generations.
“Eric’s appointment as Managing Partner is a tangible realization of this sustainability.”
Kittner joined Moneta in 2003 as an advisor for Partner Joe Sheehan. After completing Moneta’s advisor-to-partner program, they formed the Kittner/Sheehan team. Over the course of their 14-year partnership, the team has grown from four to 10 employees; currently employing three Advisors, an Operations Manager and four Client Service Managers.
“I have been lucky enough to witness Eric’s progress at Moneta over the last 14 years. It makes me ecstatic for what is to come,” says O’Meara. “I could not be more proud to see one of our young, home-grown Partners taking the helm and leading us into the future.”
Kittner says that he feels simultaneously humbled and flattered by his appointment and sees the opportunity as a duty of service and stewardship, more than a personal achievement.
“I am absolutely passionate about Moneta,” says Kittner. “My goal is to ensure that we continue to care for our clients with exceptional service; that we continue to build great teams and maintain our independence; and that we develop the next generation of advisors so that the clients of the future can experience the same service that clients receive today.”
