H. Chandler Taylor, MBA, CFP® Helping successful families protect and manage their family business and personal financial assets is how Chandler Taylor views his role as principal and Family CFO at Moneta. “Part of our job is building a strategy for those assets that meets our clients’ goals and objectives. We have structured our entire firm around providing services to a select group of successful clients with complex financial issues,” he says. Serving as his client’s advocate is fundamental to the approach Chandler takes with his clients. “Our work is all about the client,” he says. “I strive to personalize every relationship so that specific needs are being met beyond satisfaction. As an advocate, I believe it is essential to do only what is in the best interest of my clients.” Chandler joined Moneta Group in 1997 as a principal of the firm. Previously, he had a 20-year progressive career with Boatmen’s Bancshares in commercial lending. At the end of his banking career, Chandler was senior vice president, Loan Administration. In this capacity, he was responsible for the loan portfolios of the Boatmen’s Banks over a seven state territory. “In the last few years of my tenure in banking, I was a client of Moneta Group,” says Chandler. “Having experience on ‘the other side of the desk’ has helped me in my approach to this business, as I knew what I was looking for as a client before having to apply that approach as a practitioner.” Chandler’s educational credentials include an MBA in Accountancy and Marketing from the University of Illinois. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. In addition to serving clients as a Family CFO, Chandler supports a number of not-for-profit causes and serves on the committees and boards of several organizations. He is a board member of the St. Louis Academy of Science and Junior Achievement of Mississippi Valley and is a trustee of both the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and Illinois College. He is also a member of the Explorers Club of Saint Louis. Current leadership positions within Moneta include Chairman of Moneta Group Charitable Foundation and member of the Investment Committee.
Taking an interest in his clients' lives is something that Chandler enjoys tremendously. “I have a passion for my work that is readily experienced by every one of my clients. I enjoy being with them; they are my friends. In an industry that is often characterized by advisors simply executing transactions for customers, I develop personal relationships with my clients,” says Chandler.
